Assistant auditor
duties involve carrying out procedures to test how operating events are recorded in the accounting records and reflected in the financial statements. Acts under supervision of auditor/senior auditor and has responsibility for carrying out field work as part of the audit team.
Auditor/senior auditor
acts as field manager of the engagement under the supervision of the engagement manager. Responsible for co-ordinating engagement field work, providing training to assistant auditors, discussing and resolving problems regarding the engagement. Manager: reports to the partner in charge of the engagement. He/she is responsible for planning, supervision and performance of the engagements in accordance with the firm’s professional standards. Together with the partner in charge, the manager is also responsible for client relations and for training of engagement team members.
Manager
co-ordinates the engagement and deals with timing and issues arising; reports to the partner in charge of the engagement. He/she is also responsible for providing auditors with on the job training and for relations with the client over how the engagement fieldwork is carried out.
Partner
the person ultimately in charge of the audit engagement and signs the audit opinion on the financial statements. The partner controls and supervises the work of the entire engagement team headed by him/her and assesses issues together with the engagement manager before arriving at audit conclusions.
